When did you have the infant sleep in a toddler bed?
My son is turning one next week and I was just wondering when parents start having their infants sleep in a toddler bed. I know my son is way to small for the bed, but I just want to get an idea because I dropped the crib mattress almost to the ground and when he stands, I’m afraid he will topple over. I do have one of those crib tents over the crib to make sure he does not fall over, but I assume in a few months he will be trying to get out of the crib or worse falling out of the crib. When I purchased the crib it stated for 0 – 3 yrs, but I can not see my son being in the crib until his is 3. What signs should I look for in the upcoming months to know when my son is ready for the toddler bed?
My daughter is 22 months and we just now put her in a toddler bed because she fell out of her crib and we don’t want her to get hurt. my pediatrician said he recommended that a child stay in the crib until 3 years of age but if they can climb out they could fall and get hurt. Make sure the crib mattress is lowered as far as it can go and the rails are all the way up and if he can still get out its time for the toddler bed.
A good way Ive found to keep baby from wondering the house if they get up at night is to put the baby gate up in the door to their room! good luck!
