I have a 9 yr old daughter, weighs 108 lbs and 5′ tall. She has asthma(which is basically hereditary). We live in the Philippines of where it is common to have BCG vaccine as early as infant age. Lately, she has severe asthma attacks that gives me some reason to have her checked further for primary complex. Her skin test shows positivity to infection but her x-ray does not, which means there is no haziness and her lungs are clear. Before she had the skin test and x-ray, she was given Klaricid (clarythromycin), Prednisone, Ventolin Inhaler (Salbutamol). Those were taken exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Skin test and x-ray were taken after the course of the above medication. When she had this laboratory exams taken, she did not have anymore cough, colds, hizzing, fever or any other symptoms, which means she is well. Her diet is still good and she’s not losing weight. Is it possible that she has primary complex? Should I get further tests?
I HAVE TO SAY, BEING IN THE MEDICAL FIELD AND A MOM OF FOR BOYS, AND MY HEALTH FAILING IN THE LAST YEAR*** THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS LOG EVERYTHING FOR A MONTH OR SO. WHAT SHE EATS ETC. THIS CAN GIVE YOU A REAL CLUE AS TO WHAT MAY SET HER OFF WHEN SHE STARTS TO FEEL BAD. DOCUMENTATION IS THE KEY TO GETTING THE CORRECT TESTS AND SO ON.
