Can infants have enviromental allergies?
Can infants have environmental allergies? My 10 mo old daughter seems to get a stuffy nose, red eyes and sneezes almost the minute we go outdoors! It’s not a cold because after a few hours of being indoors the symptoms go away. My family and my husband both suffer from serve environmental allergies. Can anyone share their experiences with children with allergies? Would you make an appointment at the pediatrician or wait for the next well child visit (not for a few weeks)?
When it comes to allergies, my pediatrician said they would not be able to test until my son reached a later age around 3 years. Since about 10 months of age he had the same problem your daughter had…and i would have to follow him with a kleenex everywhere his nose would run so bad. He constantly had ear infections and other sorts of problems. Finally i asked him to test my son it got so bad. the only way they could test this early was to take blood from him. He did not like that let me tell you! I would reccommend taking your child to an ENT…an ear nose and throat doctor. They can tell you if there is something more to her problem or if it is just allergies. They are also more likely to reccommend an allergy test at an earlier age. Hope it helped. Good luck
